Ken Armstrong



I am an Insurance Broker and live in Milton, Ontario with my wife Pamela.  We have a daughter, Leigh Armstrong, and a granddaughter, Vaughan.  I curl at the Milton Curling Club.      

Leigh is an active player on the World Curling Tour and member of Team Sherry Middaugh, silver medalist 2013 Roar of the Rings. Leigh has won 9 various provincial curling championships, 1 Canadian Mixed Championship, and is an employee of Dominion-Travelers, has put together Canada’s #1 CCA participation event from 2009 to current, the Curling Club Provincial and Canadian Men’s/Ladies Championships.

My curling accomplishments include:

Chairman of ACCO (Association of Competitive Curlers) which became the OCT (Ontario Curling Tour in 2000) from 1990 to 2002, created website 1999 now administered by Gerry Guertz.

Chairman of this provincial Championship for 12 years.

Player Liaison Chairman for the Traveler's Curling Club Championship from 2009 to 2014 hosted by St. Georges, Richmond BC, Charlottetown, Scarborough G & CC, Thunderbay CC, & Halifax CC.

Chairman of 2011 Ontario Provincial Traveler's Curling Club Championship hosted by Acton and Milton CC.

Chairman of Acton Major League 1990 to 2001.

Coach of Team Finland 2001 European Curling Championships (Bronze Medal).

Coach of Team Finland 2002 Olympic Games Salt Lake City (5th).

Coach of my daughter’s Elementary Ontario Championship Team 1998, Provincial Champion Curling (1st female skip to win).

1993 Governor Generals.

1999 Ontario Curling Tour Champion.

2000 & 2007 Silver Tankard Ontario Champions.

2000 Ontario Legion Champion, participated in Canadian Championships “Summerside PEI”.

2012 Ontario Men’s Seniors & Silver Medal @ Canadian Championships in Ottawa.

Other interests/accomplishments/interesting facts:

President of Milton Lawn Bowling Club from 2000 to current 17+ years cannot yet find a replacement!

Grown the club from just 18 members to 115 members in 2017!!

Ontario Lawn Bowling Champion 1990 (Colts) and 2000 (Ontario Men’s 4’s) Bronze @ Canadians.

Hardball Baseball was my life from Minor baseball to Senior baseball playing in the COBA League until 1992.

I like to golf a bit.

I have a “camp-cottage-cabin” on Larder Lake, Northern Ontario, it’s a 7 hr drive but well worth the trip!!
